East Coast (NEIPA) Can 44cl

Back in May 2017, our great Navarrese friend Javier Zornoza, from the Brew & Roll brewery (Pamplona), came to our factory in Altea. They had just been awarded as the best new brewery at the prestigious Barcelona Beer Challenge that same year. United by passion and camaraderie, we set ourselves the challenge of brewing a beer style that was just emerging at the time and now has legions of followers: the New England IPA or NEIPA. This style originated in the eastern United States and its main characteristics break with traditional IPAs: it favors a much more moderate bitterness, an absolute predominance of citrus and fruity hops in aroma, a full body, and an impeccable fruity silkiness on the palate under a characteristic hazy appearance. To achieve this special creamy texture during brewing, oat flakes or wheat malt are added; in our case, we carefully incorporated both cereals into the recipe. Although Brew & Roll no longer brews, we maintain an indelible memory and a great friendship from that historic day. To this day, Costa Este has evolved to become one of Althaia's most desired house beers; one of our best-selling references on tap in the Tap Room, where each fresh batch is eagerly awaited.
