At the beginning of the week, we told you that we were going to Oslo to collaborate with a Norwegian brewery, Grünerlokka Brygghus, and now we can tell you how it went.
The experience was sensational. From the union of Kjetil Johnsen of Grünerlokka Brygghus brewery and Jorge Sánchez of Althaia, SPANISH BOMBS was born.
A Pilsner-style beer with lemon peel from the Altea orchard and spruce shoots, a typical Norwegian tree from the pine family. A Norwegian touch and a touch of Altea.
A very refreshing beer, designed to be drunk at any time and named in honor of The Clash song of the same name, Spanish Bombs. Because the world of music also brings Kjetil and Jorge together, both music lovers and part of two musical groups: Kjetil plays bass in a bluegrass band and Jorge is the singer and guitarist of an indie pop band.
Thus, the connection was complete from the beginning, and finding a name for this beer was just as easy.
The Grünerlokka brewery is what is known as a Brewpub, meaning almost all of its production is sold in the establishment itself to people from the neighborhood and nearby shops. A truly local product.
Vogue magazine defines this curious Norwegian neighborhood as follows: "Grünerlokka is industrial, dynamic, colorful, full of design, and full of people you want to be friends with because they are very friendly and they are the epitome of modernity." Its name comes from the central Oslo neighborhood where the brewery is located, the trendiest neighborhood in the city.
Jorge and Kjetil have worked side by side to create this beer, which, as its name suggests, is a Spanish and Norwegian bomb.
This beer will be served during the Grünerløkka Mikrobryggfestival from August 24 to 26, where Althaia Artesana will be present again.
