Oktoberfest, one of Bavaria, Germany's most famous festivals, has been exported to places all over the world, and our neighbor Calpe was no exception. Although this charming coastal town is known for its beaches and Mediterranean gastronomy, it decided to open its doors to the German spirit for a period of time each year.
The Beginnings of Oktoberfest in Calpe
The first Oktoberfest in Calpe was held in 1998. It was an innovative and bold idea that captured the attention of locals and visitors alike. This initiative originated from a group of German residents who, year after year, nostalgically celebrated this typical festival from their home country. This was the seed that gave rise to this peculiar Levantine tradition.
The Evolution of Oktoberfest in the province of Alicante
In addition to the already famous celebration in Calpe, La Nucia has also been celebrating this festival for a few years now. At Cervezas Althaia, we join the beer festival with our own Oktoberfest. From October 13 to 15, we invite you to join us and immerse yourself in beer culture while enjoying our most German beers, Mediterranean Märzen and Mediterranean Weissbier, which will be the ESSENTIALS throughout the weekend.
