Last Friday, August 9, Cervezas Althaia celebrated its 5th Anniversary in La Plaça del Convent in Altea with more than 800 attendees. The event was a complete success, and in just one afternoon almost 600 liters of beer were consumed.
The event, organized by Salmaia and Althaia, brought together a large number of Altea residents and visitors who spent Friday afternoon enjoying several taps with different beer styles. In addition, we organized many other activities such as the exhibition by Martutxa Casares, illustrator and author of our beer designs; workshops for children, where they could learn and play with liquids, textures and colors like little artisans while the older ones enjoyed their refreshments; and musical entertainment by DJs Sánchez and Cach@rro.
Caramba catering also participated, with their mini-hamburgers, and Forn de Pa Ximo, with traditional local bread. For those looking for a non-alcoholic refreshment, the artisan and natural cola Malferida was present.
For us, it is a source of pride and an achievement to be able to celebrate this type of event in our town and receive such a warm welcome. This cements the roots of what, for us, a predominantly local product should be. Furthermore, we believe that it is the responsibility of companies like ours to help the socio-economic fabric of the town, which is why we count on the participation of local companies and personnel.
It is also a symbol of change and the beginning of maturity in the independent craft beer market in Spain. This summer, the second best-selling Althaia beer locally has been the IPA variety, which indicates a change in trend and the desire of beer drinkers to try new styles.
From Althaia, we want to thank all of you who came for your unconditional support, and for those who didn't have the opportunity, we will see you at future events very soon. Here's to six years!
