On April 28th, a large power outage left us without electricity for several hours. Suddenly, digital silence filled the space usually inundated by the constant hum of notifications, screens, and appliances. And, although at first it was disconcerting, something curious happened: we went back to how things used to be.
Battery-powered analog radios played again, some rescued from the back of a drawer. Books were opened. People went out into the street. That lovely custom of "enjoying the cool evening air" was revived. Terraces filled with unhurried conversations, with laughter that didn't come from a TikTok video, and with children playing in the park with no battery other than their imagination.
And, as expected, shared beers in good company also returned. Because there is something profoundly human about toasting with our friends, with our neighbors, with our family... without filters and without haste, with the taste of what is ours: artisan, local, real.
This blackout reminded us that we don't need much to enjoy ourselves. That there is value in simplicity, in closeness. And that, if we are going to bet on something, let it be on products that represent us, that care for the environment and that have a story to tell.
At Althaia, we have been doing just that for years: craft beer, local, with selected ingredients and brewed here, in the "millor terreta del món" (best land in the world). Because good things don't need adornments, just authenticity.
So yes, let there be more cool evenings, more screen-free conversations, more children playing in the square... and more beers like those of yesteryear.
Because when everything goes out, what remains... is what is true.
Althaia, the best beer from the best land in the world.
