We participated in the 2017 National Beer Championship (CNC) and won 3 bronze medals.
On Saturday, July 8, the awards ceremony for the 3rd National Beer Championship 2017 was held at the Fira de Poble Nou to reward the best commercially produced beers in Spain.
172 beers from 45 different breweries were submitted to the competition, and 42 medals were awarded in 14 categories.
Althaia was awarded three bronze medals, specifically for:
MISTRAL – bronze medal in group IIF (Double India Pale Ale)
COSTA ESTE – bronze medal in group IIE (Specialty India Pale Ale). Collaboration with Brew and Roll.
BARLOVENTO – bronze medal in the Specialty Smoked Beer category.
The CNC jury was composed of recognized members of the national (Asturias, Catalonia, Galicia, and Madrid) and international (Italy) brewing community.
The tasting was conducted blind to determine the winners in each group/category, and each beer was scored using an App specially developed for the championship.
What is most rewarded is the fidelity to the style that each beer represents, divided into 5 large groups, which in turn are composed of several categories and subcategories. And Althaia craft beers have met the challenge.
We are more than happy with these national awards, for considering our beers among the best in Spain, for competing with the biggest beer producers, and for the experience lived, which has been more than fantastic.
